Your processor, ram, hard drive and internet are all designed for the normal every day computational tasks and while they work to an extent, dedicated servers are absolutely necessary if you want to be stable, and professional. The reason why your machine just won't cut it, is because that's not what it was meant to do. Looking at the hypixel server, they likely have a minimum of three nodes, each node having a gigabit port, 128gb of ECC DDR3 Ram, and something like a Xeon E5-1650v2 or perhaps something better, and at least a gigabit internet port. Although I don't doubt that you could get 20-30 people on a server like what you have now, with relatively low latency there are still other issues. Unfortunately there are a few pitfalls with your plan. Believe me, I've had many experiences with home internet hosted servers, and they've all completely failed. But, running a server off your laptop to play with some friends would work absolutely fine, but having 10,000 - 20,000 players on a laptop, home internet hosted server + website, I'm sorry but it just won't happen. As for the server to create a well organized, fitting gamestyle, running off of a higher end PC with a reliable hosting company is the best way to go. I personally wouldn't go about the $100 mark. Also, running a server off a laptop is not the best way to go your processor speed is quite slow and running off a laptop is sometimes unreliable.Īs for the ranks that I looked into on your website, I'm fairly certain that nobody is going to donate $500 unless they are very generous. You will need to look into a server hosting company like Beastnode, MCProhosting, or Intreppid hosting. If you would like to donate to me so I can upgrade my RAM, go to Let me just point this out to you, hosting of home internet is not an option if you want your server to grow similar to Mineplex/Hypixel. Reply back for any suggestions or if you want to be a plugin creator or builder or staff. +Other stuff you need to make server like Mineplex/Hypixel/Hive Network +Custom plugin creators(if you be a custom plugin creator on my server your reward will be choose any rank except Owner and Co-Owner My laptop and internet specs: 1.7 ghz dual core processor(AMD VISION E2-1800) 6 GB DDR3 RAM(Only 5.6 GB USABLE) I am trying to get $200 to upgrade to 16 GB RAM and its only possible if people donate at my BungeeCord server website. And I know you might say "It's just impossible" but I want and have to make it possible because my dream was to create a server better than any server that exists. And what I mean by popular dosent just mean players it also means that server like Mineplex create their own custom plugins for MiniGames, lots of staff, lots of MiniGames with good hubs(good builds) I would really appreciate if an Oceania region would be made as I would not be the only one who is 'stuck in the middle' and can't seem to have the right region.I have a BungeeCord MiniGames server and I am planning to make it more popular and better than Mineplex/Hypixel without website hosting just in my laptop and home. That server is the best server out of the three for me (best ping, smoothest game, least lag) and is definitely not terrible (much better than before - having a ping of 300) but it still gets lag, glitchy and I get disconnected and it's been happening more frequently recently. As mentioned above, I play in the Asia region. My second suggestion is about creating a second region, an Oceania region. Are these reports actually viewed and considered to be looked at? In the Hive you can press exit, then on the side there will be a list of gamer tags that are participating in the game, then when you click on one of them there is an option to report them. I would also like to ask if the reports actually do anything. I have played in the North America region and there are no where near as many hackers. I play Hive in the Asia region and there are so many hackers (at least 1 per game) and it's getting really annoying, so much so the game is not so fun anymore.
